V království známek
Britští panovníci jsou vášnivými sběrateli známek a Královská filatelistická společnost vznikla jako klub anglických gentlemanů. Málokdo však ví, že v Londýně už více než 60 let působí také společnost, která se specializuje na česko-slovenské známkové unikáty.

Královská filatelistická společnost v Londýně (The Royal Philatelic Society London) je nejstarším a nejrespektovanějším spolkem svého druhu na světě. Jak se na Anglii sluší, má dlouhou nepřerušovanou historii. Její kořeny sahají až do roku 1869, kdy byla založena Filatelistická společnost v Londýně jako uzavřený klub anglických gentlemanů. Do té doby také spadají počátky systematického sbírání známek. "Je příznačné, že společnost vznikla právě v Anglii, v zemi, která dala světu v roce 1840 vůbec první známku," zdůrazňuje Richard Burda z brněnsko-pražské filatelistické firmy Burda Auction."

60th anniversary of The Czechoslovak Philatelic Society of Great Britain
The Czechoslovak Philatelic Society of Great Britain celebrated last week on 21-23 of November its 60th anniversary. The celebration began on Thursday 21st in The Royal Philatelic Society in London with static display in frames. On Friday Mr. Vladimir Dražan with cooperation with Burda Auction introduced his great exhibit of The Currency Reform 1953 in Czechoslovakia and some other members presented their displays as well. The celebration then continued in Czech and Slovak National Club on Saturday 23rd.
